MEMORIAL HOSPITAL REHABILITATION

Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation is sensitive to the needs of industry to reduce lost days of work and contain costs related to job injuries. We offer a comprehensive array of services and our prices are highly competitive without jeopardizing quality. The expert staff of the rehabilitation department work closely with our IMED department to deliver a comprehensive line of services for area industry.

Injury Prevention:
IMPACC providers are Physical and Occupational Therapists who, as medical ergonomic consultants, look beyond expensive re-design of the workplace to consider other non-design alternatives that are often far more effective and less expensive approaches to injury prevention. The IMACC "schools" place greater responsibility for injury prevention on the worker and teach management strategies for control of injuries, claims and costs, as well as build the attitudes, skills and commitment necessary for continued success.

On Site Therapy:
On-site therapy provides you with a physical or occupational therapist in your facility who can provide needed services to injured workers without the need to send them to our hospital campus. On-site therapy also provides you a more efficient means of communication to safety managers and an expert who can assist in managing the employees injury as they move from light duty back to their former job.

Functional Capacity Evaluation:
A functional capacity evaluation is a detailed and standardized evaluation that measures the ability of an employees ability to perform work. Usually ordered by a physician, and performed by an occupational or physical therapist the evaluation process includes physical evaluation procedures, questionnaires and observations. The results of the evaluation provides objective measures that can be used by the physician to make work related recommendations.

Post offer employment job testing:
This evaluation is specific to the job the employee is being considered for. The evaluating therapist uses guidelines provided by the employer to determine a worker's ability to perform the critical demands of a particular job prior to hiring the employee. The fee for this service is based on the time requirement, depending on the number of essential job functions that need to be evaluated.

Broad Spectrum of Services

The Centre, PC has a full staff of hand therapists trained in a multitude of disciplines and techniques, including occupational therapy and preventive and non-invasive therapies for cumulative trauma disorders. Our rehabilitation services staff work to prevent new injuries and the recurrence of previous injuries, as well helping to lower costs for medical claims. We also employ the Graston Technique™ where needed. Successful for 70-90 percent of patients treated with it, the Graston Technique can significantly reduce the high cost of workers compensation claims and lost productivity, and may be effective in alleviating conditions such as carpal tunnel and tendonitis.

Our state-of-the-art facility is directed by skilled surgeons who were the first in this area to combine cosmetic/reconstructive skills with a focus on restoring both function and appearance. Board certified in plastic surgery, our surgeons have extensive experience in the design and use of flaps. In addition, one of our surgeons holds a fellowship in hand surgery from the Christine M. Kleinert Institute of Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville. This extra level of education brings a comprehensive understanding of the specific physiology and treatment of the hand.
